St. Mark’s Inreach Team Stephen Minister Purpose: This is an important, one-on-one ministry that provides support and nurturing for those in need. This service requires extensive training ( 50 hours of training, then a 2 year service commitment). Often folks reach out to this ministry following a death, or illness, or divorce...any life event that might be difficult to handle alone. LuAnne Douglas serves as our Stephen Minister Coordinator, 379-6911. Responsibilities: · Weekly contact with care receiver for about one hour. · Twice monthly supervision meetings with Stephen Ministers Qualifications: · Must be interested in caring for others. · Must be able to devote a minimum of two years to the ministry. · Must complete 50 hours of training. Time Requirements: · 50 hours of training. · Twice monthly supervision meetings (90 minutes each). · Once a week visit with care receiver for about one hour. May visit on the phone occasionally.
