Lay Eucharistic Ministry

Purpose: 

The “LEM” volunteers are Lay people who administer the Eucharist ( communion ) to our home communicants.  They receive an hour of training, then work on teams, each providing communion about once every other month.  Marsha Merrell serves as our LEM Coordinator.

Responsibilities:

· To participate in one hour of training.

· To go with a mentor the first two times.

· To administer the Eucharist once every other month on the fourth Sunday of the month.

Qualifications:

· A desire to connect our shut-ins with their parish by the delivery of the Holy Sacraments.

· Available on the 4th Sunday.

· Able to drive.

Time Requirements:

· One hour of training.

· Two observation visits with a mentor.

· Once every other month for about 1 to 1 ½ hours.

· Training as arranged by the clergy.

· 4th Sunday of each month.
