St. Mark’s Inreach Team

Goals and Activities

The Inreach Ministry provides pastoral care to the families of St. Mark’s, and we welcome any opportunity to provide support, caring and love to parishioners in times of need.  Our committee meets the 1st Wednesday of each month, at 6PM, in the Library of St. Mark’s and we welcome you to join us any time.  If you are considering a volunteer opportunity, or if you are in need of any of our services, please contact the individual coordinators or the current Chair, Gail McEnroe.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Attend committee meeting every 1st Wednesday of the month.

VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES

1. Stephen Ministry -a one-on-one ministry of nurturing. This requires special training of 50 hours and a two-year commitment.

2. Meals and Transportation when needed. ( about 3x a year per member of committee.

3. Eucharistic Lay Minister administer the Eucharist to shut-ins. This requires one hour of training and is done once every-other month on the 4th Sunday .

4. Visitation of sick or shut-ins. This is done as needed and as time permits.

5. Covenant Ministry Relationship mentoring usually meets once a month.

6. Health Ministry A new ministry being developed to promote wellness, health education, and other areas of concern in this parish.

7. Correspondence Sending Birthday/Get -Well cards 

8. Flower Delivery Deliver flowers from the altar after Sunday Service to two shut-ins or sick parishioners. This requires about one hour every other month.

Anyone wishing to join the Parish In-Reach will participate in one or more of the above ministries. Training where needed will be provided. The Clergy keep us abreast of needs with in the congregation and each member responds as he or she has the time. The commitment of one year is required to serve on this committee. The member is responsible to the chairperson of the Parish Inreach Committee.

As outlined above, the amount of time required depends on the choice or choices of ministries.
